Activity Assistant - Part Time
About The Position
The Wealshire, an assisted living community specializing in memory care, is hiring a part-time Activity Assistant/Life Enrichment Aide at its Medina Community. The role supports resident well-being by assisting the Director of Life Enrichment with group and one-to-one activities, preparing and maintaining program spaces and supplies, caring for bird aviaries, and helping residents with meals as needed. Base pay is $20–$22 per hour, based on experience. The listed schedules are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 11:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; employees must work every other weekend and every other holiday. Musical or artistic abilities may be useful but are not required. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of experience as an Activity Assistant is preferred.
- Experience in long-term care and memory care is preferred.
- Musical or artistic abilities are a plus but are not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Life Enrichment by leading small, medium, and large resident group activities.
- Prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies before each program and clean up afterward.
- Conduct one-to-one programs with residents who are low functioning.
- Clean and care for bird aviaries on Tuesdays and Saturdays, or as instructed by the Life Enrichment Director.
- Keep supplies and equipment neat, organized, and returned to the appropriate place.
- Assist with feeding residents at mealtimes as needed.
