About The Position

The Activity Assistant implements assigned activities and programs that meet residents’ needs, interests, and capabilities. The role involves engaging residents in daily activities, assisting with program planning and resident profiles, preparing and cleaning up activity spaces, and supporting resident outings by driving the community vehicle. The assistant also participates in scheduled in-service training and helps ensure compliance with applicable regulations and community policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or higher education preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, and Excel), and ability to learn new applications.
Ability to drive the community vehicle for resident outings.
Ability to work at least one weekend day.
Ability to perform the listed physical duties, including lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds and using proper body mechanics.

Responsibilities

Assist with planning and implementing activities that meet residents’ needs and interests.
Help create resident histories and profiles with input from residents and their families.
Set up and clean up scheduled daily activities.
Assist with creating and distributing the monthly social program calendar to community personnel and residents.
Keep residents engaged between planned social activities.
Drive the community vehicle for resident outings.
Attend and participate in scheduled in-service training.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
