About The Position
The Activity Assistant will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing activity programs for residents. This role involves engaging with residents in a compassionate manner, documenting their participation, and managing activity supplies and equipment. The position also includes driving a company van for organized outings and coordinating community newsletters and resident input into the activity program.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Must hold valid driver’s license
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 21 years of age preferred with driving record in good standing
- Prior experience driving a company vehicle for resident transportation activities is preferred
Responsibilities
- Drives company van on organized outings, as needed
- Interviews residents upon admission to determine their likes and dislikes
- Documents the resident’s participation in activities daily
- Plans and maintains an inventory list of activity equipment and supplies
- Evaluates the overall effectiveness of the resident’s activity program and, as necessary, modifies the program to meet the resident’s needs and interests
- Plans and coordinates the Community newsletter
- Coordinates with the resident council to ensure resident input into the activity program
- Coordinates resident shopping orders for those unable to shop independently
- Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction
- Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities through attendance and participation in educational seminars, staff meetings, and other learning experiences
