About The Position

The Activity Assistant provides activities for residents of an independent and assisted living facility to promote residents’, families’ and staff’s psychosocial, spiritual and emotional well-being. The role works with other members of the Activity Department to deliver individual, group and one-to-one activities and helps ensure activities meet residents’ needs.

Requirements

• Must be, or be eligible to become, a State Tested Nurse Aide to allow more active participation in activity delivery.
• Willingness to learn and communicate well with others.
• Sincere desire to work with elderly people and enjoyment of working directly with residents, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Work with other Activity Department members to provide individual, group and one-to-one activities that support residents’ well-being.
• Provide input for the activity calendar and activities that meet residents’ needs.
• Conduct scheduled group and individual activities.
• Attend outings and operate the bus lift and other bus equipment.
• Attend Team Member meetings as needed.
• Assist with resident meals, including serving and feeding.
• Assist with Theme Weeks and special events.
• Document attendance and participation for group and individual activities.
• Assist with Customer Service Surveys.
• Perform other duties specified by the Supervisor.
