About The Position

We are looking for an energetic Activity Specialist to join our growing team. The role plans, coordinates, and leads social and recreational activities for residents, with the intent of including all residents in some area of activity. The position also supports off-campus trips, transportation arrangements, activity communications, and purchasing supplies. Candidates with experience in geriatrics, recreation, or social administration are encouraged to apply, and creative professionals are welcome.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in geriatrics, recreation, or social administration.
• Ability to communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.
• Ability to work with others in setting up for events.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to complete small set-ups independently.

Nice To Haves

• CNA certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Resident Engagement Director and residents to plan, coordinate, and lead a wide scope of social and recreational activities, with the intent of including all residents in some area of activity.
• Plan off-campus trips for residents and attend many of the trips.
• Assist in arranging transportation to events and programs when necessary, including bus and other vehicle transportation, and scheduling a community driver or outside resource.
• Create, post, and/or distribute information and material regarding events, programs, and activities.
• Assist with purchasing necessary supplies, films, crafts, and other materials.
• Alert social services staff of concerns pertaining to residents.
