About The Position

As an Activities Associate, lead recreational and social activities that bring residents together, foster a sense of community, and improve their quality of life. The role is suited to someone who enjoys working with people, has a creative mindset, and is dedicated to enhancing others’ lives. Experience with residents living with dementia is preferred.

The position is at Avalon Springs Health Campus in Valparaiso, Indiana. A high school diploma or GED/HSE and 0–1 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead activities, events, and entertainment that promote residents’ socialization, creativity, and physical well-being.
• Communicate upcoming activities and events to residents and encourage participation.
• Assess residents’ cognitive and physical abilities to select appropriate activity levels and support inclusive participation.
• Set up and organize activity spaces and prepare equipment and supplies.
• Facilitate individual and group activities, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, exercise routines, and social gatherings.
• Document participation and activity outcomes.
