About The Position
Weatherly Inn is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to help plan, coordinate, and lead engaging activities that enrich the daily lives of our residents. This role supports resident well-being by encouraging participation, fostering social connection, and creating meaningful experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of experience in activities, senior care, or a related field
- Food Handler permit (within 14 days)
- CPR & First Aid (within 30 days)
- Dementia & Mental Health Training (within 90 days)
- Fundamentals of Caregiving
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Nice To Haves
- Activity-related education preferred
- Creativity in arts, crafts, music, or group activities preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and leading scheduled resident activities
- Encourage resident participation while respecting individual preferences and abilities
- Support activities in Memory Care as appropriate
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Monitor resident behavior and report changes to nursing staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized activity environment
- Follow all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or suspected abuse immediately
