About The Position

The Activity Assistant leads recreational and social activities for residents in the Memory Care Unit, fostering community and supporting residents’ quality of life. The role organizes and facilitates individual and group activities, including arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, and social gatherings. Activities are tailored to residents’ cognitive and physical abilities, and participation and outcomes are documented. The position is scheduled four days per week on 10-hour shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED/HSE preferred.
• 0–1 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead activities, events, and entertainment that promote residents’ socialization, creativity, and physical well-being.
• Communicate upcoming activities and encourage residents to participate.
• Assess residents’ cognitive and physical abilities to select appropriate and inclusive activities.
• Set up and organize activity spaces and prepare equipment and supplies.
• Facilitate individual and group activities, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, exercise routines, and social gatherings.
• Document activity participation and outcomes.
