Activity Aide
About The Position
NEW Care, Inc. is seeking a full-time and/or part-time Activity Aide for its skilled nursing facility. The Activity Aide assists the Activity Director with planning and implementing individual and group activities for residents. The role is suited to someone who enjoys spending time with elderly people and engaging them in purposeful activities. Applicants with long-term-care experience, including Certified Nurse Aides and Direct Support Professionals, who are enthusiastic about interacting with the elderly will also be considered. Full-time hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Part-time schedules are either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or Tuesday and Thursday, six hours per day from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Some weekends and holidays may be required if needed. The rate of pay is $14.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially people who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize assignments.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous long-term-care experience, including experience as a Certified Nurse Aide or Direct Support Professional, is considered.
