About The Position

Troy Center is hiring a part-time Activities Aide to work in its skilled nursing facility in Troy, New York. The role implements activities programs for residents, with an emphasis on individual interests, and works directly with residents on facility units without direct supervision. The aide also supports recreation specialists, organizes supplies and equipment, assists with program setup, documents attendance and participation, and helps residents get to and from program locations. The position requires familiarity with established emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Experience with activities in a healthcare setting or college work in recreation therapy.
• Strong computer skills.
• Positive attitude and energy.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to multitask.

• Previous experience with the geriatric population.

Responsibilities

• Implement activities programs for residents, focusing on individual interests.
• Work directly with residents on units without direct supervision.
• Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.
• Assist recreation specialists and set up program areas as needed.
• Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities.
• Assist residents to program locations and return them to appropriate units.
• Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
