About The Position

Cascades at Orchard Park in Orem, Utah, is hiring a part-time Activities Specialist for a skilled nursing facility. The organization aims to provide top-quality care and maximize residents’ functional independence. The Activities Specialist assists the Activities Supervisor with activity plans that support residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Under the direction of the Activities Director, the specialist carries out individual and group activities tailored to residents’ functional levels, needs, and interests, and helps maintain activity equipment, supplies, and spaces.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Love for the geriatric population.

• Some prior activities experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify ways to support residents’ activity needs, preferences, routines, and choices.
• Carry out individual and group activities under the direction of the Activities Director, suited to residents’ functional levels, needs, and interests.
• Adapt activities to residents’ cognitive and physical functional levels using task segmentation, verbal prompts, set-up assistance, physical assistance, and demonstrations.
• Maintain and clean activity equipment and supplies.
• Keep activity spaces clean and orderly.
