About The Position

The Activities Director at Cottonwood Senior Living is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing activity and leisure programs that meet residents’ social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational, and physical needs and interests, in accordance with each resident’s comprehensive care plan. The role is with Tutera Senior Living & Health Care, which describes its approach as guided by the YOUNITE philosophy and emphasizes getting to know residents and team members personally and responding to their needs and preferences.

Requirements

• Have a passion for working with seniors.
• Have a flexible, fun, and energetic personality.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or a related area.
• Be licensed or registered nationally or by the state in which practicing.
• Have at least one year of experience as an Activities Director in an LTC, SNF, AL, or MC setting.
• Have two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, including at least one full-time year in a resident activities program in a health care setting.
• Present a professional image in appearance and behavior.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Accreditation as a Certified Activities Director is preferred.
