About The Position

The Activities Coordinator assists with and provides an activities program appropriate to participants’ needs. As part of the interdisciplinary team, the coordinator helps evaluate individual needs and implement appropriate programming. The role helps build a sense of community and a warm social atmosphere while ensuring participants’ safety and security.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education or experience.
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
Two years of recent relevant experience.
Working knowledge of the needs of older adults, including mobility limitations, sensory impairment, and cognitive loss.
Sensitivity to the activities and educational needs of various ethnic groups.
Familiarity with basic recreation equipment.
Attention to detail and time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices.
Basic computer knowledge, including word processing, presentation, and email software; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while accomplishing multiple tasks under varied conditions.
Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard or straightforward problems.
Ability to protect the privacy of each patient’s Protected Health Information (PHI).
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse audiences.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with participants, peers, physicians, other healthcare providers, and community resources to promote Sutter Health services and provide exceptional customer service.
