About The Position

Serenity Hospice is hiring a full-time Activities Coordinator to support its activities program serving seniors in Ocean and Monmouth County. This hands-on role focuses on bringing joy, stimulation, and connection to hospice residents. The coordinator receives training in resident engagement and the company’s approach to structured, sensory-based activities that support comfort, connection, and quality of life.

The role includes leading one-on-one and small-group activities, occasional larger monthly themed events, and documenting daily activity encounters. The coordinator works independently, manages a schedule, and travels between assigned facilities within Burlington and Camden counties. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with no nights or weekends required.

Requirements

• Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP); the employer will help the employee earn the certification if they do not already have it.
• Compassionate and patient personality.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and organized.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in activities, caregiving, senior living, teaching, or recreation.
• Creativity and willingness to learn new engagement styles.
• Comfortable with light physical activity, such as balloon toss and sensory activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful interactions and engagement sessions throughout the day.
• Work independently and manage your schedule.
• Lead one-on-one and small-group activities at assigned facilities.
• Travel between facilities within Burlington and Camden counties.
• Assist residents with sensory, recreational, and restorative-style activities.
• Help organize and run occasional themed monthly events.
• Write clear and supportive activity notes; training is provided.
• Maintain a positive, encouraging, and welcoming atmosphere.
• Communicate professionally with facility staff and the Serenity team.
• Support residents’ emotional well-being through presence and engagement.
