About The Position

Watercrest Spanish Springs is seeking a creative, engaging Assisted Living Activities Assistant to promote residents’ movement, interaction, and wellbeing through planning and participating in daily activities and outings. The role implements Watercrest’s Live Exhilarated programming and supports a range of intellectual, cognitive, physical, spiritual, social, recreational, creative, cultural, outdoor, intergenerational, and educational programs.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Communicate effectively with management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources, and outside contacts.
Make independent decisions.
Communicate in a warm, friendly, and caring manner.
Have a passion for working with and around senior citizens.
Meet the role’s physical demands, including standing or walking for 75% of the day, driving, working under stress and in emergencies, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
Use personal protective equipment and follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Attend outings with residents.
Help celebrate resident events and accomplishments, including birthdays and anniversaries.
Participate in activities and help engage residents in a variety of programs.
Assist with developing the community program calendar and newsletter.
Recommend and help order supplies needed for programs.
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for the Community Program department.
Ensure equipment and supplies are properly used and meet cleaning and safety standards.
Attend educational classes, on-the-job training programs, and orientation as scheduled or requested.
Respond promptly to requests from residents, families, and guests.
Wear the company uniform and remain resident-ready.
