Activities Assistant Full Time
About The Position
The Activities Assistant supports the Activities Director in coordinating and implementing programs and activities that meet residents’ psychosocial needs. The role conducts activities for patients and residents in both one-on-one and group settings and assists with transporting them to and from activities. The position is based at The Meadows of Central Massachusetts, an 82-bed transitional care facility providing skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and respite care. The stated schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Saturdays and Mondays off.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a long-term care facility.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to motivate people and be sensitive to their needs.
- Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
- Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
