About The Position

The Activities Assistant at CarDon and Associates enhances residents’ quality of life by organizing and facilitating engaging, meaningful activities. The Activities Assistant works with residents to understand their interests and abilities and ensures activities are inclusive and accessible. Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate individuals with varying levels of ability.
• Commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and independence for all residents.

Nice To Haves

• Certification or training in activity coordination, recreational therapy, or related fields.
• First Aid qualification.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to care environments.
• Experience working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to residents’ interests and needs.
• Encourage resident participation and foster an atmosphere that promotes social engagement and personal development.
• Assist with organizing special events, outings, and celebrations.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with care staff to align activities with individual care plans and support residents’ physical and emotional well-being.
