About The Position

The Activities Assistant is responsible for creating, planning, and implementing life enrichment programs that encourage and stimulate residents’ physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs. The position develops and facilitates activities for individual residents and groups, as well as outings, special events, and intergenerational programs. It also supports community events, resident meetings, seasonal decorations, and positive relationships among residents, staff, and visitors. Positions are available in Riverview/Brandon, Largo, and Orlando, Florida. Riverview/Brandon offers full-time or part-time work, with shifts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, holidays, and some weekends. Largo offers part-time work (25 hours per week), with shifts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, holidays, and some weekends. Orlando offers part-time work (20–25 hours per week) on a variable schedule. Pay is $16–$18 per hour.

Sociable, caring, outgoing, spirited, and enthusiastic personality.
Ability to get elderly residents involved in daily activities.

Responsibilities

Develop cognitive, physical, social, and spiritual programs that promote each resident’s quality of life.
Develop, lead, and facilitate recreational programs for individuals and small and large groups that support resident satisfaction.
Plan, organize, and implement residents’ outings and special events.
Develop, lead, and facilitate intergenerational programs.
Create and distribute a monthly Life Enrichment Calendar.
Facilitate monthly Resident Council Meetings.
Tastefully decorate the community for holidays and events.
Plan and host community events for residents and families in coordination with other departments.
Order life enrichment supplies within the department budget.
Inspire and motivate staff through consistent leadership, supervision, and coaching.
Promote positive relationships with residents, staff, and visitors.
Perform other duties as requested within the scope and requirements of the job.
