About The Position

The Activities Assistant supports community members’ quality of life by carrying out group and individual daily activities. Working with the Activity Director, the assistant helps design and execute plans, programs, and events that address community members’ social, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. The role builds and maintains positive relationships with community members, their families, staff, and others in the geographic area served by the community.

Responsibilities

Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of activities in accordance with community member care plans.
Assist the Activity Director in designing and carrying out plans, programs, and events that meet community members’ needs.
Create and maintain positive relationships with community members and their families.
Support the preparation and distribution of activity calendars and communication materials, and update activity and orientation boards.
Assist with special events, outings, birthdays, and anniversaries.
Encourage and motivate community members to participate in activities.
Provide leadership and support for volunteers.
Collaborate with departmental and community-based peers to generate enthusiasm and deliver high-quality programming.
Lead by example and maintain ethical standards and professional conduct consistent with Meridian Senior Living values.
