About The Position

Bourbonnais Terrace is a healthcare center serving mental health patients, adults working to rebuild their psychological health and independence. Candidates with a strong background in sports, culture, music, and traditional recreational activities are sought to bring joy, structure, and stimulation to those in care.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • If assigned transport (driving) responsibilities, must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the organization’s motor vehicle record and insurance eligibility requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as an Activity Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) is strongly preferred
  • The ideal candidate is outgoing, compassionate, and skilled at creating a welcoming environment that encourages resident involvement and participation
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or patient documentation systems is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging group events, ranging from fitness and games to music and arts
  • Lead stimulating individual cognitive and memory retention activities for our long-term residents
  • Maintain accurate documentation in PointClickCare (EMR system)
  • Collaborate with our health care teams to individualize your approach
  • You may be asked to drive and escort residents to off-site events, appointments or activities utilizing our facility van
