About The Position

The Active Treatment Coordinator provides instruction that is consistent with state/federal regulations which promotes growth and learning in self-care, dining, domestic, communication/socialization, money management, and functional academics for individuals with intellectual development disabilities. This position assesses skills on an on-going basis to create an annual evaluation for an assigned caseload utilizing a variety of assessment tools and strategies. The Active Treatment Coordinator develops curriculum, educational activities, model, observe and monitor instructional sessions. This position analyzes/interprets responses to instruction (data), documents progress/regression in EPIC and design learning environments that best meets learning styles and promote independence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience providing professional or direct services (either paid or volunteer) in a setting that serves individuals with disabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, and instructional techniques utilized for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and behavior management strategies.
  • Knowledge of supervisory and management skills, including staff monitoring, instructional competencies, timekeeping abilities and proven leadership skills.
  • Effective communication both oral and written and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of team members.
  • Proven ability to be task oriented, flexible, to plan, prioritize, and organize work, manage time wisely, recognize and resolve problems and issues as necessary.
  • Experience in evaluation, instructional techniques and creating instructional objectives and educational activities for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, Autism and Severe/Profound Cognitive Disabilities.
  • Experience with NCVIP, ICF/IID Regulations, EPIC and DHHS policies and procedures.
