About The Position

The UMLY School of Dance is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Acro Dance Instructor to teach dancers of varying ages and skill levels. The instructor will lead safe, engaging classes that combine dance technique with acrobatic skills including flexibility, strength, balance, tumbling, and basic partnering. Candidates should have experience teaching acro, gymnastics, tumbling, or dance and be comfortable adapting instruction to meet individual student needs.

Requirements

18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
Minimum 1-year prior teaching or instructional experience
Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area
Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills
Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
Ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities.
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to attendance records, rosters, etc
Manages all equipment.
Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
