About The Position

The Acquisitions Manager at Great River Learning (GRL) is responsible for identifying business opportunities with colleges and universities, interviewing professors, and persuading author candidates to work with the company. The role involves competing with other companies to partner with talented educators for lower-level, higher-enrollment courses to develop interactive and engaging materials. GRL has the experience and resources to market publications nationally if they perform well locally. The position is remote, with eight weeks of overnight travel each semester (late August-late November and January-late April) to college campuses in Northern and Western Texas and Oklahoma. Travel involves Sunday departures and Friday returns, with campus visits throughout the week.

Requirements

Possesses a bachelor's degree.
Two years of sales experience.
Possesses a valid driver's license.
Skills and abilities to become a sales professional.
Competitive, highly organized, and self-driven.
Takes advantage of time between appointments.
Possesses leadership, motivation, and purpose to hold yourself accountable.
Has a positive and a "can do" attitude towards life.

Responsibilities

Proactively plan and schedule the week by sending emails and making phone calls to schedule meetings.
Run meetings to interview, identify business opportunities, and recruit college professors to become GRL authors.
Make the most of time on campus during travel by making additional phone calls to higher priority contacts or department chairs.
Follow-up with prospective and existing authors.
Maintain notes and next steps in the CRM for all prospective, in-development, and existing publications.
