MSIM Tactical Value, Acquisitions Associate (2027 Program)
About The Position
Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is seeking a Pre-MBA Associate for its Tactical Value team. This role involves working directly with senior investors and decision-makers, contributing to the entire investment lifecycle. The Tactical Value team is part of the Private Credit & Equity platform within MSIM, managing approximately $4 billion in assets and focusing on private equity, growth equity, and structured credit investments across various industries. The team is generalist, investing in both large cap and middle market deals with check sizes ranging from $50-$750MM+. Recent industry focuses include tech/cybersecurity, consumer, professional/industrial services, media, and sports. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and entrepreneurial team with significant upward mobility.
Requirements
- 1-3 years’ previous experience in investment banking or private equity
- Ability to learn quickly and interact well with others
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a team player attitude
- Superior level of attention to detail
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once and meet associated deadlines important to success
Nice To Haves
- Experience: M&A, industry coverage, or capital markets preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on macro themes, investment ideas, and target assets
- Build financial models for company projection and transaction scenarios
- Produce investment memoranda and support materials on investment opportunities
- Coordinate with advisors and consultants on due diligence items
- Monitor the performance of portfolio companies and interface with management teams
