MSIM Tactical Value, Acquisitions Associate (2027 Program)
About The Position
Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is a leading global asset management organization with over 40 years of experience and a presence in 26 countries. The Tactical Value team, part of the ~$62bn Private Credit & Equity platform within MSIM, manages ~$4bn and focuses on private equity, growth equity, and structured credit investments across various industries. The strategy leverages connections within Morgan Stanley's Investment Banking Division (IBD) and Global Capital Markets (GCM) as well as external relationships for sourcing, diligence, and value creation. The team is a generalist group that invests in both large cap and middle market deals with check sizes ranging from $50-$750MM+. Recent industry focuses include tech/cybersecurity, consumer, professional/industrial services, media, and sports. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and entrepreneurial team with significant upward mobility.
Requirements
- 1-3 years’ previous experience in investment banking or private equity
- Ability to learn quickly and interact well with others
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a team player attitude
- Superior level of attention to detail
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once and meet associated deadlines important to success

Responsibilities
- Conduct research on macro themes, investment ideas, and target assets
- Build financial models for company projection and transaction scenarios
- Produce investment memoranda and support materials on investment opportunities
- Coordinate with advisors and consultants on due diligence items
- Monitor the performance of portfolio companies and interface with management teams
