About The Position

Knowledge Management, Inc. (KMI) is seeking an Acquisition Specialist for a role located at 843 Brightseat Road, Landover, Maryland. The position supports acquisition planning and execution in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, can work independently with minimal supervision, and has direct, hands-on experience developing acquisition documentation for contract awards. DHS Public Trust clearance is required; the U.S. Secret Service will process the clearance, which may take approximately 3–5 weeks. General operating hours are listed as 7:00–9:00 AM to 3:00–6:00 PM. The job posting lists a start date of October and asks candidates to provide their salary requirement. The successful candidate will independently develop requirements, conduct market research, prepare cost estimates, manage program budgets, and guide acquisition actions from planning through contract award. Required documentation experience includes Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs), Market Research Reports, Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), acquisition planning documents, and Sole Source Justification and Approval (J&A) packages for acquisitions under Other Than Full and Open Competition. Direct ownership of this work is required; experience limited to coordinating, assisting, or participating without responsibility for developing the documentation will not meet the requirements. The role also supports program planning and execution, including acquisition strategy development, cost and budget management, lifecycle cost estimating, compliance with acquisition laws and policies, contract monitoring, deliverable assessment, schedule and test planning, and program reviews. Full-time employees are eligible to participate in KMI's benefits programs.
