Join Our Team: Intel – Acquisitions & Procurement Are you analytical, inquisitive, and eager to help government organizations operate more effectively? Do you enjoy researching acquisition concepts, interpreting the FAR, and helping stakeholders understand how government procurement works? We are seeking a detail‑oriented Acquisition Analyst to support the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) – Dynamic Business Office (DBO). This role blends acquisition analysis, client engagement, event support, research, and communication. Job Description: The Acquisition Analyst will support the NRO DBO by conducting acquisition-related research, supporting outreach events, analyzing challenges faced by industry partners, and preparing clear, detailed products for senior leadership. The ideal candidate understands the fundamentals of federal acquisition and thrives in a dynamic environment where new ideas and adaptability are key.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of federal acquisition principles
  • Working knowledge of the FAR and how to navigate it
  • Basic understanding of contract types, RFI/RFP structures, and acquisition documentation
  • Familiarity with appropriations and funding distinctions
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Confident public speaking and briefing abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and self‑motivated
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Must thrive in team‑based, collaborative settings
  • TS/SCI w/ CI Poly (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting government acquisition or working within a federal agency
  • Experience creating and delivering training materials
  • Familiarity with the Intelligence Community culture

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on federal acquisition topics including: Basic principles of government acquisition
  • FAR structure and interpretation
  • RFI/RFP components
  • Contract types (Fixed Price, Cost-Type, etc.)
  • SOW vs. PWS requirements
  • Appropriations and funding types
  • Identify challenges small businesses face in doing business with government.
  • Analyze findings and prepare detailed, insight‑driven briefs with recommended solutions.
  • Explore innovative approaches companies can use to enter or expand within the federal market.
  • Support planning and logistics for in‑person and virtual outreach events.
  • Develop event materials such as surveys, PowerPoint presentations, agendas, and training products.
  • Present on basic acquisition topics in group settings or during industry engagements.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data gathered from events or stakeholder interactions.
  • Create polished, visually clear PowerPoint briefs and acquisition overviews.
  • Deliver presentations to internal stakeholders, small businesses, and senior leadership.
  • Translate complex acquisition concepts into digestible, non‑technical language.
  • Support the NRO customer by providing proactive, high‑quality service and follow‑through.
  • Build and maintain relationships with small business partners, entrepreneurs, and NRO stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with colleagues daily in this highly collaborative environment.
  • Work in an evolving program where creativity and adaptability are essential.
  • Generate new ideas, products, and approaches without waiting for daily tasking.
  • Provide feedback and propose improvements to strengthen DBO efforts and outcomes.
