About The Position

Héroux-Devtek, a global company serving the aerospace market with production facilities in North America and Europe, is seeking an Operational Buyer. Located in Longueuil, Quebec, this facility is a center of excellence for landing gear repair and maintenance and is known for manufacturing parts for the Apollo 11 lunar module. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a College Diploma in a related field with a minimum of 1-3 years in a similar role.
Strong communication and work organization skills.
Strong ability to prioritize, manage time, and achieve results.
Good learning speed with strong negotiation skills.
Functional French and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
Knowledge of English is required due to necessary communications with various international suppliers, clients, auditors, and other organization subsidiaries.

Nice To Haves

Practical purchasing experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
Customer service or account management experience.
Experience working with an MRP/ERP system.

Responsibilities

Develop follow-up strategies and supplier follow-up plans based on current issues, prioritizing to meet operational needs within established deadlines and pre-negotiated costs.
Place purchase orders for raw materials, components, and machined parts according to production schedule deadlines and inventory levels.
Coordinate and recommend transport solutions for present transport issues (with authorized carriers), respecting transport requirements, established prices, and expected deadlines.
Plan and manage supplier performance according to requirements, deadlines, and current issues; suggest action plans or more frequent follow-ups if necessary.
Work closely with the Quality team and suppliers to process non-conformities.
Suggest solutions to maximize the efficiency of logistics and purchasing operations related to systems, tools, practices, or communication methods in place.
Ensure the maintenance of reliable supply parameters in the ERP system.
