Accounts Receivable, Subject Matter Expert
About The Position
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as a senior technical expert supporting complex claims resolution, process optimization, and staff training within the Abbott Heart Failure, Acelis Connected Health business. This role involves advanced AR management and analysis, including reviewing AR aging, prioritizing at-risk accounts, and resolving complex denials, discrepancies, and underpayments. The SME will also validate payer reimbursement accuracy against contract terms, identify denial trends, and develop corrective action plans. Additionally, the position requires documenting and improving workflows, handling high-dollar or complex insurance follow-ups, training staff, conducting audits, and interfacing with payers and leadership.
Requirements
- 4–6 years revenue cycle or AR experience
- Advanced knowledge of payer guidelines and medical billing
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Experience mentoring or training staff
Responsibilities
