Accounts Receivable Specialist (Part-Time)
About The Position
Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy-five employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need. Food & Friends is proud to be a nationally-recognized leader of the Food is Medicine movement. Utilizing our Sage Intacct accounting software, the A/R Specialist will collect and process revenue information from a variety of programs. Reporting to the Controller, the A/R Specialist will:
Requirements
- BA/BS in a relevant field or at least two years of directly relevant experience
- Solid understanding of A/R principles and procedures
- Ability to learn and use accounting software (Sage Intacct experience a plus)
- Ability to input large amounts of data with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment
- Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment background check and drug test

Responsibilities
- Review claims reports for accuracy and enter invoices into accounting system
- Review daily bank deposits
- Import revenue files into the accounting system, attaching support documents as needed
- Enter incoming deposits into accounting system
- Regularly update A/R and stock donation worksheets and FSA tracker for monthly financials
- Reconcile YTD revenue totals
- Assist Controller with audit tasks
