Accounts Receivable Specialist

About The Position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist handles customer invoicing, intercompany transaction entries, bank activity reconciliation, accounts receivable aging, credit requests, and payment deductions or discrepancies. The role supports customer setup and the Accounting Manager, communicates regularly with accounting and sales leadership, and performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements

Prior accounts receivable experience.
Advanced problem-solving skills.

Ability to make appropriate decisions and recommendations when solving problems.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with daily and other required deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate and influence cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization.
Intermediate to advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Prior ERP system experience (Canopy).
Experience with customer internet portals and other applications.
Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends when necessary.
Proactive work ethic.

Responsibilities

Send customer invoices.
Coordinate and/or post system entries for intercompany transactions.
Reconcile details of large amounts and daily bank activity, including deposits, cleared accounts payable checks, and other transactions.
Monitor accounts receivable aging, send past-due inquiry emails, and provide regular updates to accounting management, sales managers, and the general manager.
Review credit requests and create credit memos when appropriate.
Reconcile and process credits for RGAs and other deductions and discrepancies.
Analyze, reconcile, investigate, and resolve deductions and/or overages on invoice payments.
Assist with and/or coordinate the setup of new customers.
Support the Accounting Manager.
Perform all other relevant duties as assigned.
