Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for leading the company’s accounts receivable and collections function to ensure timely cash flow, minimizing risk, and support overall business performance. This role plays a key part in strengthening customer relationships, improving receivables turnover, and driving process improvements, while also leading and developing the Accounts Receivable function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
  • Minimum of 10 years of Accounts Receivable and Collections experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, general ledger systems, and credit management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); SAP experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication skills with Senior Finance Management and Sales Management and external customers
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and customer focus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full accounts receivable and collections process to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
  • Proactively communicate with customers via phone and email to resolve past-due accounts, disputes, deductions, and short payments
  • Partner cross-functionally with Customer Service, Sales, and Business Units to resolve issues and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Oversee reconciliation of customer accounts and ensure accuracy of the accounts receivable ledger
  • Supervise and support the Accounts Receivable Specialist, including cash application, credit memos, and ledger postings
  • Monitor customer credit limits, assess risk, and take appropriate action including credit holds when necessary
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to the Controller and leadership on receivables performance and customer account status
  • Recommend and implement strategies to improve collections, reduce risk, and enhance efficiency using best practices and technology
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls, including J-SOX requirements; serve as a backup for key AR functions and other duties as needed.
  • Assist in establishing annual AR goals and tracking performance against targets
  • Stay current with industry trends and continuously seek process improvements
