About The Position

The AR Credit Specialist position is responsible for working with customers to accelerate the speed that they pay NEFCO by collecting aged receivables and for applying a consistent credit policy towards customers. Periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers should occur daily. Specialists will always be pleasant and respectful to all internal and external customers and act as NEFCO ambassadors.

Requirements

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Collections.

  • Ability to maintain open communication and follow up effectively with the sales department.
  • Experience managing customers in a credit hold queue.
  • Ability to maintain customer credit files.
  • Skill in responding to requests for credit references.
  • Ability to recommend changes in credit policy.
  • Skill in monitoring account credit worthiness.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks and ad hoc duties.
  • Experience engaging in daily huddles, weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Experience participating in AR related Projects (e.g., Avalara & Bill Trust).
  • Ability to meet defined department goals and activity metrics.
  • Experience reviewing direct reports’ timecards.
  • Experience approving employee timecards.
  • Ability to work with employees to resolve timecard errors.
  • Experience reviewing and approving PTO requests.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues and reporting on monthly collections in a timely manner.
  • Providing customer service regarding collection issues, processing customer refunds, review and process account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
  • Monitoring and maintaining accounts - Customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write off, customer deductions, customer reconciliations and processing credit memos.
  • Interacting with Cash Application team, Sales Tax Dept, Customer Service and other internals departments as necessary to effectively reconcile accounts as required.
  • Enlisting the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
  • Maintaining open communication & follow up effectively with sales department regarding customer accounts on a timely basis.
  • Managing customers in the credit hold queue.
  • Maintaining customer credit files.
  • Responding to requests for credit references.
  • Recommending changes in the credit policy to senior management.
  • Monitoring the credit worthiness of accounts and reviewing with management as required.
  • Performing other assigned tasks and ad hoc duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department.
  • Engaging in daily huddles, as well as weekly and monthly meetings to discuss & resolve A/R related issues.
  • Participating in AR related Projects i.e Avalara & Bill Trust.
  • Meeting defined department goals and activity metrics.
  • Reviewing direct reports’ timecards, ensuring employees’ time is accurately recorded and complete.
  • Approving employee timecards at the end of each period, prior to supervisor deadline.
  • Working with employees to resolve errors (missing punches, adjustments, etc.).
  • Reviewing and approving PTO requests.
