Entry Level Accounts Receivable Clerk
About The Position
Davis Machine is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in accounting or finance. This position will support multiple companies within the Davis Machine family of businesses while working onsite at our Davis Machine location. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. No extensive accounting experience is required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively with multiple departments.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Previous office, customer service, or clerical experience is preferred but not required.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Comfortable working with numbers and financial data.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with processing customer payments and applying payments to customer accounts.
- Prepare and distribute customer invoices and account statements.
- Monitor outstanding customer balances and assist with collection efforts as directed.
- Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation.
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries regarding invoices and account balances.
- Assist with reconciling accounts receivable records.
- File, scan, and organize accounting documents.
- Provide administrative support to the Accounting Department.
- Support accounting functions for multiple company locations under the Davis Machine organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
