About The Position

This is an internal job posting for a Work Out of Class (WOC) opportunity within the Homeless Services Department's Business Services team. The role is temporary, lasting up to 12 months, and focuses on ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations, serving as the subject matter expert for all accounts payable. The Business Services division is committed to centering equity in policy and practice, and every employee has a responsibility for promoting equity. This position reports to Steven Ohl.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) to six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position OR equivalent transferable skills and experience of 7-10 years.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of fiscal staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement development plans.
  • Oversee daily operations and workflow.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reports.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and implement new procedures.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
