About The Position
STARS is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their Finance department at their Calgary base. This role is crucial to STARS' life-saving mission, contributing to the organization's operations by managing financial processes. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will play an important role in the organization's success, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations that support the critical care provided by STARS.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Diploma or Degree)
- 5–8 years of progressive accounts payable or accounting experience in high-volume, multi-location environments
- 2–3 years of supervisory experience within Accounts Payables
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounts payable and vendor management
- Experience with general ledger reconciliations and month-end close
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capability
- Ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and resolve them proactively
- Adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset
