About The Position

The position of Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable. This includes completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling as well as supporting the Accounting Manager as needed.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting support experience preferred
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Intermediate level MS Word, Excel, Outlook and accounting software
• Ability to review data for accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
• Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
• Positive attitude and strong customer focus
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames
• Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Review all invoices and check requests for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and vendor payments
• Post transactions to accounting software
• Answer all vendor inquiries
• Provide accounts payable reports as needed.
• Assists in monthly closings
• Audit all expense reports and provide Accounting Manager with reports necessary for billing with all required supporting documentation
• Review and reconcile credit card statements for all accounts
• Monitor credit card account activity and ensure purchases are in line with Trendsetter’s Credit Card Policy
• Ensure proper job numbers are assigned to all transactions
• Assist with preparation for various audits as needed, both internal and external
• Be familiar with Company HSE policies and procedures
• Share knowledge & best practice across the company
• Collaborates with and add value to management by reviewing the Accounts Payable process and making changes that will lead to increased productivity
• Cross train job duties with Accounting Manager and serve as back up to Accounting Manager as needed
• All other duties as assigned
