About The Position

Sandalwood Management Inc. is a growing property management company seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for their corporate office in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for processing weekly check requests, ensuring proper coding and documentation of invoices, and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of high-volume accounts payable experience and a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in high volume A/P.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
  • Understands project management, budgeting, cash management, along with general accounting principles and processes.
  • Experience with Yardi property management software.
  • Ability to work at our corporate office in person.
  • Experience in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a high volume fast paced environment.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with onsite residential property managers via phone and email.
  • Review weekly property invoices to ensure proper coding, documentation, and approval before processing for payment.
  • Process weekly check requests and ensure timely delivery to vendors.
  • Match invoices to checks, obtain all necessary signatures, and distribute checks.
  • Perform 1099 maintenance.
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and research/correct discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.
  • Edit, enter, and process vendor invoices into accounting software.
  • Manage accounts payable for multiple entities.
  • Communicate with managers and vendors as needed to confirm accounts receivables.
  • Create and update reports in accounting software and Excel.
  • Perform general office administrative duties as required.
