Accounts Payable Specialist
About The Position
WorkBay is the largest owner/operator of micro-bay industrial warehouse parks in the United States. Fully vertically integrated, we develop, acquire, and manage micro-bay properties across the country's top markets. We move fast, think strategically, and build systems that scale — and we're looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who does the same. We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function as we continue to scale. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–4 years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or a related finance role
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles and the full AP cycle
- Proficiency in learning new accounting & AI software quickly & being adept with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with vendors and internal stakeholders
Nice To Haves
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- experience with MRI or other real estate software preferred
- Background in real estate, property management, or commercial real estate preferred
Responsibilities
- Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and coding
- Enter invoices into the accounting system and manage recurring payment runs
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payment status
- Support month-end close activities, including AP accruals and account reconciliations
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives as the company scales its portfolio and systems
- Perform other finance or administrative duties as assigned
