About The Position

Miller Electric, an ITW company, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their in-house accounting team in Appleton, WI. This role involves taking ownership of invoice and receipt approval, coding, and matching. The specialist will also be responsible for communicating with vendors to resolve accounts payable issues, booking journal entries, and verifying payment accuracy. This position is key to ensuring financial integrity and upholding ITW principles within the accounting team.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in accounting or related field
• Previous accounts payable experience
• Analytical and reconciliation skills
• Proficiency with Excel, is required
• Strong problem-solving skills, prioritization, organizational and data entry skills
• Effective communication skills
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and standards
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude

Nice To Haves

• Accounting in a manufacturing environment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Entering vendor invoices
• Resolve invoice processing issues
• Received not invoiced clean up
• Material invoice processing, 3 way match
• EDI processing
• Analytical and reconciliation skills
• Assist with projects assigned by supervisor
• Understanding sales and use tax law
• Be analytical, inquisitive, and precise in explanations
• Demonstrate a strong ability to understand macro and micro trends to quickly discern inaccuracies
• Help other employees understand how their decisions will impact financial results
• Identify, communicate, and train others on key business drivers
• Apply sound judgment to analyze processes, identifying, and acting upon opportunities to reduce complexity and simplify processes
• Perform related work as apparent or assigned
