About The Position

Weston & Sampson is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist with 2-5 years of experience in our Reading, MA office in a hybrid working environment. The candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player capable of taking on various aspects of accounting support within the department with increasing responsibility as the company continues to grow.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong problem-solving, research, documentation and data analysis skills
  • Detail oriented, reliable, professional and positive attitude
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
  • Ability to multitask, adapt quickly to change, and follow tasks through to completion

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar related field (strongly preferred but not required)
  • Experience in construction and/or engineering industry a plus
  • Experience with Deltek VantagePoint is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform a high volume of project-based payable activities in accordance with invoice terms and company policies
  • Support the monthly close by monitoring general ledger activity and following up on missing invoices with vendors
  • Process credit card transactions and follow up with holders to properly allocate activity to correct general ledger accounts
  • Process expense reports for employees and properly document activity with support/receipts
  • Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Coordinate with the Billing Team regarding PWP charges
  • Coordinate with Billing Team and G/L team for Intercompany billings/payables
  • Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed within the department
  • Collaborate with team members and project managers to resolve billing and account inquiries
