About The Position

Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe® Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story. We are now preparing for our upcoming commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients. As a member of the accounting team, you will be supporting essential accounting and office services including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and contributing to team projects. Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team lead role within a manufacturing or regulated industry; experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech environments strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and best practices for AP in a high‑volume, multi‑vendor supply chain environment.
  • Proficiency with large ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle); experience with workflow automation, three‑way matching, and AP imaging solutions is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify process bottlenecks, develop KPIs, and present insights to Finance leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop AP staff, fostering a collaborative, high‑accuracy, and continuous‑improvement culture.
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, support month‑end close, and meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes, including purchase‑order flow, receiving transactions, and quality holds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits, ensuring financial processes meet compliance expectations and provide strong audit trails.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly excel
  • Great communication skills
  • A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for finding innovative solutions to challenges

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice intake, coding, approvals, and timely payment processing.
  • Manage and mentor the AP team, providing training, performance feedback, workload prioritization, and professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain AP policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
  • Ensure accurate and timely month‑end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Monitor vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive vendor relationships through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Accounting, and Operations to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and support cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Lead AP system enhancements, including workflow optimization, automation projects, and testing of new tools or configurations.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and documentation practices to support FDA inspections, internal audits, and external audits related to financial processes.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting related to payables, coordinating with Treasury or Finance as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce processing times, errors, and cost while enhancing accuracy and service levels.
  • With the projected growth of the team, there will be opportunities for the role to evolve and expand into other areas of the wider Finance department.
