About The Position

Yingst Building Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to oversee daily accounts payable operations, maintain strong vendor relationships, and ensure vendor compliance across multiple legal entities. This role provides leadership and support to accounting staff and serves as a key connection between daily accounting activities and senior financial reporting. The Accounts Payable Manager will ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, strengthen internal controls, improve accounting procedures, and support the financial health and growth of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of accounts payable or accounting experience required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, vendor management, and payment processes.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial information with professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Construction industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day accounts payable functions for multiple legal entities.
  • Supervise, support, and develop accounting support staff, including providing coaching and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Review accounting transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Manage the accounting email inbox by assigning tasks, responding to inquiries, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Assist with coding and processing company credit card transactions.
  • Support the Controller with budgeting, forecasting, and identifying potential financial concerns.
  • Ensure accurate job costing across New Homes, On-Your-Lot, Remodeling, and Commercial divisions.
  • Partner closely with the Manager of Purchasing & Estimating to ensure accurate cost coding and identify cost variances.
  • Manage vendor compliance requirements, including insurance certificates and tax documentation.
  • Document and improve accounting procedures to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Maintain strong internal controls related to invoice approvals, vendor setup, and payment processing.
  • Partner with the Controller to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and improve workflows.
  • Complete additional accounting projects and analysis as needed.
