About The Position

Gallagher is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and bilingual (English/Portuguese) Accounts Payable Assistant to support our Latin America (LATAM) Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys auditing processes, identifying discrepancies, working with international stakeholders, and contributing to critical compliance initiatives across multiple countries. In this role, you'll partner closely with the LATAM Non-Trade Accounts Payable Manager to review payment processes, perform audit-style payment reviews, ensure compliance with corporate standards, and help strengthen financial controls throughout the region. This is a temporary assignment anticipated to last 3–6 months with a potential for permanent employment upon successful completion of the assignment. The position requires fluency in English and Portuguese.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable, accounting support, audit, finance operations, or related experience
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
  • Experience maintaining vendor records and vendor master data
  • Strong account reconciliation experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Data analysis and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-starter mindset with a high degree of professional maturity and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience supporting international or multinational finance operations
  • Exposure to internal controls, audit reviews, compliance processes, or process documentation

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze information gathered through Compensating Controls initiatives across LATAM offices
  • Evaluate payment processes and identify opportunities to strengthen compliance and internal controls
  • Perform audit-style reviews of Accounts Payable transactions to ensure adherence to documented policies and procedures
  • Analyze and prepare compensating control reconciliations
  • Verify vendor compliance documentation, payment approvals, and payment accuracy
  • Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
  • Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and business teams across multiple LATAM countries
  • Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned
  • Help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payment processing across the region
