About The Position

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for an Accounting Technician! This role involves performing general accounting and financial analysis activities. Key tasks include preparing journal entries, reconciling ledger accounts, and preparing financial statements, reports, and schedules. The technician will prepare, complete, analyze, and report on accounting transactions and system maintenance, ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles, including ERISA and SEC requirements where applicable. The position also provides financial support to the business through forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing budget variations. Maintaining strong working relationships with customers is essential. The role involves conducting financial and business analyses and modeling using forecasts, financial statements, and other business inputs to assess risk, improvement opportunities, and potential costs and/or benefits. The focus of responsibilities may include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, credit and collections, and sales rebate duties. A strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement is expected. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED, or two (2) years equivalent work experience.

  • Role may require technical certification or associates degree.
  • Requires effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills and proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting and financial analysis activities, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of ledger accounts, preparation of financial statements, reports and schedules.
  • Prepare, complete, analyze and report accounting transactions and system maintenance ensuring integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles including ERISA and SEC requirement where applicable.
  • Provide financial support to the business including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers.
