The Accounting Technician is responsible for the verification of cash, credit/debit card payments and meal calculations, compiling and posting financial documents and reconciling invoice statements. This role involves understanding and abiding by policies, procedures, and programs, typically working on projects and tasks that span 1 day – 3 months. The technician will plan and manage their own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments, following through on learning and skill-building to adapt to change. They will use technical skills and knowledge to manage day-to-day tasks under general supervision, with work regularly reviewed by a manager or senior coworker. A practical, working knowledge of tasks, responsibilities, policies, and procedures is expected, with the ability to learn and apply new concepts. The role also involves serving as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community and participating in volunteer opportunities. Key duties include accurate compilation of data for financial statements in accordance with Goodwill and Navy contracts, verifying and compiling Uniform Replacement information and Employee Meal Deductions for payroll, and processing invoices by coding and posting them using the D365 Accounting system. Reconciliation of vendor statements is also a core responsibility to ensure all invoices are received, posted, and properly applied.
