About The Position

The Accounting Technician is responsible for the verification of cash, credit/ debit card payments and meal calculations, compiling and posting financial documents and reconciling invoice statements. This role involves understanding and abiding by policies, procedures, and programs, and typically works on projects and tasks that span 1 day – 3 months. The technician will plan and manage their own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments, following through on learning and skill-building to adapt to change. They will use technical skills and knowledge to manage day-to-day tasks with general supervision, with work regularly reviewed by a manager or senior coworker. A practical, working knowledge of tasks, responsibilities, policies, and procedures is expected, with the ability to learn and apply new concepts. The role also involves serving as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community and participating in volunteer opportunities as schedule and interest permit.

Requirements

  • Two years of college education or experience equivalency.
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheet and financial/database programs (Preferably Microsoft Excel, Word and Dynamics 365).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate compilation of data to produce financial statements in accordance with Goodwill and Navy contract.
  • Responsible for verifying and compiling Uniform Replacement information, Employee Meal Deduction and submitting weekly spreadsheets and documents for payroll deductions.
  • Accurate invoice processing including coding and posting all invoices using D365 Accounting system.
  • Responsible for reconciling vendor statements to ensure all invoices have been received, posted and properly applied by the vendor.
  • Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
  • Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments.
  • Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
  • Uses technical skills and knowledge to manage day-to-day tasks.
  • Serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.
