About The Position

The Operations Accounting Supervisor supervises a staff of professional accountants to ensure transactions are recorded and analyzed accurately and promptly in accordance with company policies. The role is responsible for accounting functions within its assigned area, including internal and external customer service, management reporting, and all aspects of the monthly accounting close. Duties include monthly invoicing for contractual and/or physical gas or oil that may be gathered or processed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Six years of accounting or relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of supervisory experience.
One to three years of oil and gas industry experience.
Experience with SAP accounting software.

Responsibilities

Oversee personnel, processes, and procedures in the workgroup, ensuring accounting activities are recorded timely and effectively.
Collaborate with the Manager to set and monitor annual goals and metrics.
Develop and coach employees in performing their assigned duties; provide leadership and expertise, and build knowledge of workgroup business processes and system applications.
Work with internal and external parties to resolve issues; partner with IT and other business units to implement system upgrades and improvements.
Monitor internal controls for effectiveness and compliance with SOX requirements.
Participate in the monthly accounting closeout, perform reviews, and provide guidance on accounting topics.
Review and approve significant journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with Controller’s policies.
As needed, monitor compliance with governmental and/or state programs and maintain appropriate program reporting.
Perform monthly invoicing of contractual and/or physical gas or oil that may be gathered or processed.
