About The Position

At Regions, the Accounting Specialist performs a variety of routine and some non-routine clerical/accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a related financial area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of basic accounting, administrative, or related experience
  • Ability to multi-task and complete work in a timely manner
  • Data entry skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, provides support to internal and external clients to ensure proper validation of expenses, collect information, solve issues, and ensure internal requests are addressed effectively
  • Reconciles bank accounts, balances general or subsidiary ledgers, and processes payments
  • Researches and resolves routine discrepancies using accounting systems
  • Compiles segments of monthly closings, annual reports, ad hoc reports, etc.
  • Develops and maintains reports and files for accounts payable processing
  • Adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company guidelines
  • This position supports the daily invoice processing workflow, including invoice review, data entry, and issue resolution
