About The Position

As an Accounting Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial integrity of First Alliance Credit Union. You’ll work behind the scenes to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and smooth daily accounting operations—helping the organization make informed decisions and stay compliant.

Requirements

  • Confidence working independently and exercising sound judgment
  • Experience with accounting systems, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting or general ledger experience
  • Experience in a financial institution or with regulatory reporting (NCUA a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, perform complex reconciliations, and ensure general ledger accuracy.
  • Assist with financial reporting, audits, NCUA call reports, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities to strengthen processes and controls.
  • Partner with the Accounting Manager and team to keep workflows on track and meet deadlines.
  • Serve as a technical resource, supporting team members with training, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Handle wires, investments, and accounting system updates with precision and care.
